One of the most valuable documents in Hendee Genealogy is Caleb Hendee, Jr.'s manuscript written over a period of 27 years, from 1827 to 1854. The original, housed in the Vermont Historical Society, was transcribed by Ulysses G. Hendee in 1913. In 1996,

Cynthia Ann Hendee Henry, Caleb's 2nd great grandniece, created a wonderful document from Ulysses' transcription that not only made it easier to read but contains numerous comments and cross references to a book, "In the Shadow of Cox Mountain." The author, Grace Neil Anderson, used parts of Caleb's manuscript as a reference.

Cynthia Ann Hendee Henry's document is truly a treasure for any serious Hendee historian.
